Ashtoreth, an archfiend from Hell, finds herself an anomaly among her kind. Unlike other archfiends, she possesses an optimistic, energetic, and inherently kind nature. Her original mission was to study humanity to aid in its destruction, but this task unexpectedly led her to fall deeply in love with human civilization. Consequently, when the apocalypse arrives, Ashtoreth makes the unprecedented decision to betray Hell and fight on humanity's behalf, convinced that Earth is her true home.
As she navigates the apocalyptic "tutorial" phase, Ashtoreth actively recruits allies to her cause. However, she quickly discovers that humans are deeply distrustful of her. This skepticism stems from several aspects of her demonic nature and abilities. For instance, her primary ability, [Consume Heart], is perceived by humans as inherently evil, despite Ashtoreth's innocent explanation that it merely causes enemies to drop extra health potions. Similarly, her race, [Vampiric Archfiend], and her class, [Bloodfire Annihilator], sound intimidating to humans, though Ashtoreth believes that even the pure-hearted would agree some threats warrant fiery purging. Even her [Demonic Summoning] ability is misunderstood; while it conjures an ancient demonic entity, Ashtoreth points out that this entity manifests as a cute, sassy cat.
Despite these misunderstandings and the prevailing human distrust, Ashtoreth remains optimistic. She is confident that, given time and effort, humans will come to recognize her genuine intent to help them. She believes this understanding is crucial because she carries a significant secret that she intends to reveal to humanity: Hell itself is afraid of them.
