His approach to missions is purely transactional. When Pain approaches him for help in capturing the Tailed Beasts, Zeldris readily agrees, stating his fee is "per tail." Similarly, when Orochimaru attempts to recruit him to destroy Konoha, Zeldris initially feigns loyalty to his former village, only to reveal he is merely negotiating a higher price.
