The Broken Halo tells the story of Simon, a hero who dedicated sixty years of his life to fighting alongside his companions. As the Hero of Earth, he was instrumental in defeating the Demon King and was on the verge of ending the war between races. However, in a shocking turn of events, Simon was betrayed by the very comrades he trusted, for reasons he could not comprehend.
Instead of death, Simon experienced reincarnation, a fate that brought him face-to-face with his deepest fears and hatred. He was reborn as an infant demon, a member of the race he had spent his entire previous life exterminating and despised. This rebirth placed him at the bottom of a poverty-stricken demon tribe, in a world he once sought to destroy.
Despite this horrifying twist of fate, Simon was not entirely alone. His unique Seven Star Blessing, granted by his patron God, followed him into his new life. Armed with this divine gift and the inherent Demonic Magic of his new race, Simon now harbors an ambition far greater than any he held as the Hero of Earth: to ascend to godhood.
However, his journey will be fraught with challenges. He will face betrayals from unexpected sources and endure endless trials and tribulations. A central conflict for Simon will be the question of his identity. Should he cling to his past as a human hero, or fully embrace his new demonic nature to survive?
